PostSubject: Games Running Slow On Windows 7   Mon Mar 22, 2010 11:59 am

gday all

i recentley just got a new PC and its running 7 which first off i thought was good, but not too long ago (say 6 hours ago) i started installing games, i started with COD5: WAW and the first time round it said something about missing a direct X 9 file (i have X10) so i un-installed and re-installed and that solved the problem, but then of course another came up, when i get into the actuall game (eg playing it) everything runs rly slow, now i know for sure that this comps specs are well above the minimum to play COD5, so i thought maybe its just a one off so i installed COD4, alot better but still experiancing slight lag when playing or looking at lots of things exploding, so then i tried BFV, same problem as cod4, the only game that works without drama so far is battlefield 1942, even COH is lagging bad

i have tried a driver update for the Grahpics card but that didnt do anything, one of me mates says windows 7 doesnt run games at thier full potential and the only way i can get COD5:WAW to run smoothly is running it in safe mode which then means all the grahpics turn to **** and its not rly that run without them

so plz guys i beg u, i need some help with this problem, or im gunna maybe have to go back to XP

cheers, Cameron

It isn't Windows 7, it's probably your RAM or processor (Windows 7 is very similar to Vista and I experience problems with neither.) May need to get updates for these or get a newer part.

hmm maybe, im dead set sure its not the PC, ive gone over the specs list and its minimum requirements and it can run COD4 easy, but it just has that hint of lagg which is noticeable and ruins the game

Minimum requirements, not recommended requirements. Take hint. It's definitely your PC.

use XP or vista, they both work really well with bfv, and no problems with cod4 and cod5 there.

and also Windows 7 sucks donkey ****.

Windows 7 is just like Vista, there's very little difference. I have no troubles with Vista or Windows 7, so I can't agree with you on that one. Vista is pretty good, just over paranoid a bit.

Faulty parts? Your RAM or processor may need to be replaced?

I would guess he would be talking about a default card on your new PC. But your card isn't onboard, because it was custom built. Are they still laggy?

na it wasn't custom built, ive found the problem this bloke just told me all about it

the card is on bored and has to borrow memory which is used to run the PC, so that's why there slow so i gotta go out and buy my self a separate card with its own built in dedicated memory and that should fix the problem

so ill just save up some dough (wont take me long) and ill go order one, gotta do some research on them though
