Ok, few simple techniques to get you snipering effectively.

Firstly you need to select a good sniper rifle. The best are generally the NVA ones, although the USA M21 and M40 are decent aswell.

Secondly choose a good spot, hidden but has a good view and preferably Higher than the targets. (I'm not saying where the best are because then you will know where to find me)

Thirdly, Once in position, prioritise your targets. Priority should go something like this.

1. People not moving, and waiting for a vehicle to spawn.
2. People standing still shooting at ground targets.
3. People in a ZSU or Quad .50 cal
4. People running in circles on the Heli pads/ vehicle spawns.
5. People in Jeeps and Huey Slicks.

Remember this order to maximise your kills, however, remember, you want your first shot to kill, so aim for the head. If the first shot doesnt kill, then take the second shot, but remember: Your first shot will give away that you are snipering.

Once yo have taken that first shot, then start picking people off at random, but always keep an eye on the ZSU's and Quad .50 cals as they are essentially sniper traps. (Keeps the head in one spot, and they cant dodge your bullets easily)

Enjoy your snipering. and Remember

Your first shot will give away that you are snipering.

And remember, a distraction always has benefits.

If you know your targets name, ask them what time it is on xfire, or start a conversation... 8 times out of 10 they will reply.

But remember, always shoot on the 2nd reply, I dunno why but they stay in that spot the longest.

When sniping, until you see an easy target, do not zoom in. This results in tunnel vision, and the next thing you know a guy jumps you with a knife. Once you see a target, zoom in and shoot. Zoom in long enough to see if the bullet kills, if it doesn't fire again. If it did, zoom back out immediately and repeat. This way you are more aware of your surroundings. Also, here's your priority targets:

1) Snipers. Once you start sniping, your muzzle flash will give you away, and that sniper will then get you. Make sure you get snipers first (though generally they aren't used defensively).
2) People not moving.
3) People manning exposed vehicles that aren't moving (ZSU, Quad, Turrets and a Loach on Takeoff).
4) People standing on helipads.
5) Only if you have low ping, aim for people running around.
6) This is for real low ping and crackshots, people in moving vehicles.

If your shot isn't easy, don't bother shooting as it wastes your ammo very quickly, which is why I don't bother with moving headshots. Also, after a few kills (3-4 kills or a sniper kill) you should relocate. When relocating you should move at least 40m away from your previous spot to throw them off, otherwise you will face sniper spam very quickly or worse yet a helicopter being sent your way.

Be aware of aircraft, especially free flight bombers (A1 Skyraider V2, MiG17, A7 Corsair) and the MiG21. The KA25 is also dangerous to snipers. Aircraft will massacre hidden snipers and are a sniper's worst enemy. Napalm bombers are not so deadly to snipers but should still be avoided.

Your pistol is your friend. If you are being rushed and your having trouble hitting the rushers, use your pistol. Try to avoid rushers though.
